Who we are

This website is operated by Animals & Kids, Inc. ("Animals & Kids," "we," "us"), a 501(c)3 nonprofit (EIN 81-3704022) in Fort Myers, Florida. "The site" means animalsandkidsswfl.com and its pages.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Contact form: your first and last name, email address, phone number (optional), organization (optional), the topic you are reaching out about, and your message.
• Volunteer application: your name, email address, phone number, whether you are 18 or older, your areas of interest, your availability, and anything else you choose to tell us.
• Newsletter sign-up: your name and email address.
• Donations and event tickets: these are handled by Zeffy, our donation platform. Zeffy collects your payment details directly. We receive your name, contact details, and gift information so we can thank you and send your tax receipt, but we never see or store your full card number.
• Emails and calls: anything you choose to share when you contact us directly.

Information about children

Our programs serve children, but this website is meant for parents, guardians, and adults. We ask that a parent or guardian, not a child, fill out our forms. Please do not include detailed medical or mental health information in a website form. We will ask for what we need privately during enrollment.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. This keeps the site running, secure, and protected from spam. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are most useful. It does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.

How we use your information

• To answer your questions and help you find the right program.
• To follow up on volunteer applications, referrals, sponsorships, and partnership inquiries.
• To process donations and send tax receipts.
• To send our newsletter, if you signed up for it.
• To keep the site secure and working properly.

Our newsletter

If you sign up, we will email you barn news, upcoming events, new programs, and ways to help. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us at any time to be removed.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not rent, trade, or share our contact lists with other organizations.
• We do not share your information with advertisers.

Who we share it with

We only share information with service providers that help us run the organization, and only what they need to do their job:

• Cloudflare hosts this site and processes form submissions.
• Postmark delivers form submissions to our inbox.
• Google Workspace is where we receive email and keep a log of form submissions.
• Zeffy processes donations and ticket purchases and manages our contact and newsletter lists.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of the children, families, volunteers, and animals in our care.

Embedded content and outside links

Some pages load content from other companies: donation and sign-up forms from Zeffy, our event calendar from Google Calendar, and fonts from Google Fonts. Links to Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps, and our Amazon wishlists take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.

Cookies

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from bots. Embedded Zeffy forms may set their own cookies to process donations securely.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry and sign-up information for as long as it is useful for the reason you shared it, or until you ask us to delete it. Donation records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.

Your choices

You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we have about you, correct it, delete it, or stop sending you emails. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and we limit access to your information to the people and tools that need it. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
